We Speak - English Class

Dear PS/IS 192 School Community,

We are excited to announce our collaboration with the NYC Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs - We Speak NYC.

We Speak NYC (WSNYC)  is the city's FREE English language learning program developed by the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs. WSNYC provides conversation classes where participants can practice speaking English while learning about immigrants rights and NYC services.

Classes meet once a week for 8 weeks. Each week, we gather for two hours to watch and discuss a different episode from our award-winning video series. There is NO English skill level requirement, but materials are most useful for high-beginner to intermediate learners.

Classes will be held at PS/IS 192, and it is essential to present a photo ID for entry into the building.

If you or someone you know is interested in attending the WSNYC classes, please complete the form at the bottom and return it to the school, or submit your information using the link provided below. For any questions, feel free to reach out to our Parent Coordinator, Ms. Solange Cisneros-Steinert, at scisnerossteine@schools.nyc.gov or call 718-633-3061 EXT 2056 or 1040.

October 2025

Dear PS/IS 192 School Community,

What a fantastic start to the school year! It has been heartwarming to witness the joy and enthusiasm from our students, families, and the dedicated staff at P.S./I.S. 192. September was bustling with activity, and we eagerly anticipate many more engaging events throughout the year.

Our Curriculum Night was a great success, with many families joining us virtually to connect with their child’s teachers and begin fostering essential partnerships. We encourage you to keep the lines of communication open with teachers regarding your child’s progress , along with any concerns.

We are excited to invite you to our first Coffee with Colby (aka Coffee with the Principal) on Friday, October 24th, where we welcome your thoughts and feedback.

Additionally, from September 15th to October 15th, we are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with various activities that honor Hispanic culture. Don’t miss the Hispanic Heritage Family Event on Thursday, October 9th, at 2:30 PM in the school yard.

Throughout October, we will also be raising awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, encouraging everyone to wear PINK on Wednesdays to support this important cause.

As a reminder, school doors open at 7:40 AM for breakfast, and school hours are from 8:00 AM to 2:20 PM. Students arriving after 8:00 AM must check in at the main office for a late pass. Regular attendance and punctuality are vital for your child’s learning, so please ensure they arrive on time each day.

Warmest Regards,

Mr. Colby Muscarelle
